A Gift From the Deer

One of our resident deer has left us a very special gift. Yesterday, my son and his grandpa found antlers from one of the bucks that comes to eat on our property. One antler was found under the tree where we feed them, and the other was found about 50 feet away, under a birdfeeder. My son was so excited, he ran in to show me the reindeer horns left by Santa's reindeer.
The deer on the left of the photo below, is the donor of the beautiful antlers. Unfortunetly, he was camera shy and I never could get a better photo of him. Now that they don't have antlers, I can't tell them apart!
We have quite a few antlers, but it is very special to know the deer they came from. A gift that we will treasure for many years.

  1. How sweet! I want to see the "rack" you make from them when it gets hung ;)

  2. What a great story and even better that you know which deer they belong to.
